Community Fundraising
At Liverpool Sunflowers, we love our community and have cherished all the support from our neighbours, friends, and families. That’s why we want to give back to our wonderful community. In other words, we want to get involved in whatever your community groups love doing or love to organise to support the people of Merseyside through any difficult times. So, whether it’s running, walking, swimming, social events, special events, school events, Liverpool Sunflowers welcomes your community fundraising efforts!
Our goals
Most importantly, our goal is to help those in need who are experiencing a diagnosis of cancer or a long term illness. Therefore, we want to be open longer hours to offer vital support. For example, longer hours would allow us to put on specialised exercise classes, group counselling, nutrition workshops, complementary therapies and many other important services to ensure that nobody in Merseyside has to go through a diagnosis of cancer or any long term illness alone.
How community fundraising can help!
Here are some great suggestions for how you can channel your group or your community’s enthusiasm and imagination:
- Donations/Collections – we are always open to donations online or at our base location. Alternatively, you could set up your own donation or collection rally for a quick and easy way to raise funds.
- Fundraising activities – Plan the perfect fundraising activity! From knitting, baking or singing to sport matches, there are loads of ways you can get involved in your community. Similarly, you could do sponsored group activities, such as giving up something for a month.
- Volunteer with us – Our volunteers are a very important part of our organisation. Your group could volunteer for a few shifts at our location if they have a couple of hours to spare. We particularly welcome volunteers who understand what our users are going through.
We are proud to be represented by such considerate communities and we can’t wait to see what your talents are. Help us raise money so that we can continue to give the people of Merseyside the support needed to find a way to live through cancer and long-term illness.
